Amazing Software Engineer (Employee #15)
Rapleaf (www.rapleaf.com) is a well-funded San Francisco startup (we currently have 14 people on the team). We index publicly available information from the social web on hundreds of millions of people and build products and analytics on top of this data. We built the largest portable social graph is the world and we’re building the platform to develop a myriad of applications.
Rapleaf’s B2B arm provides deep insight on consumers for businesses. Business customers include retailers, airlines, hotel chains, social networks, lead generation firms, telcos, political campaigns, and more; these clients learn about their existing consumer base in order to provide them a better consumer experience.
We’re looking for people that have the talent and passion to fill the dream of a portable identity and reputation. Role:
- Build out Rapleaf's next set of ground-breaking features.
- Work on creating a portable identity, social graph, and reputation.
- Build algorithms to normalize data on over a hundred million people.
- Solve super complex engineering problems no one else in the world is working on.
Qualifications:
- One of the best computer science/software engineers within your peer group.
- Gifted critical thinker who can learn new languages and platforms really extremely fast – we use Ruby on Rails, MySQL, and Java
- Intensely driven, proactive, and hard working
- Thrives on working with extremely talented and gifted people that you can learn from and who can learn from you
- Likeable person who garners respect on and off the job.
- Embraces the chaos, risk, and uncertainty that comes with working at a startup.
- Should be easy to get along with, nice, fun, ethical, and low-maintenance.
- Strong desire to build a more ethical society.
