Limos.com is seeking a Ruby on Rails software engineer to help re-engineer the site and transform the business. We're the #1 internet site for limo / ground travel service, profitable and seeking to build this internet category. We're looking for a well rounded engineer to be a fulltime key member of the team composed of seasoned travel executives formerly from IAC, Hotwire and Starwood!


Technical Qualifications:

* 2-5 years of Web development
* Ruby experience - or knowledge of at least one scripting (Python, PHP, Perl, etc.) and at least one OO language (Java, C++, Python, etc.)
* Ruby On Rails development experience or strong interest
* Javascript/AJAX (prototype, scriptaculous, etc.)
* HTML/CSS
* Working knowledge of Unix and MySQL
* Experience with major web development frameworks (Ruby on Rails, Hibernate/Spring/Struts/etc., Django, etc.)
* Solid understanding of Object Oriented Programming methodologies
* Familiarity with data structures and design patterns
* BS/BA in CS or equivalent experience in web application development
* Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle and standard software engineering practices
* Understanding of cross-browser development and issues

* Strong teamwork and communication skills
* The ability to work independently, multi-task, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
* Organized, self-sufficient worker with a disciplined, analytical approach to problem solving
* Enjoy working in start-up environment


Responsibilities:

* Conceive, design, build, test, and release features and enhancements in an Agile development environment
* Produce creative solutions with an emphasis on usability and simplicity
* Work proficiently in all layers of the development stack, from SQL to HTML/CSS and JavaScript
* Write and maintain documentation and unit/functional/integration tests
